Healing Headbands Project had the opportunity and pleasure to interview Lvon Yoder; artist about his view on art and how he feels about helping those with illness feel better with his work.  Thank you Lvon for your contribution to the help children of the world.

Healing Headbands Project: Can you describe the time when you first realized that creating was something you absolutely had to do?

Lvon: I had experimented with a abstract painting, after seeing the completed work i knew creating was something i absolutely had to pursue.

HHP:  Why do you paint and how does your art relate to healing?  Have you had a personal experience that has helped you or another person heal with art?

Lvon: Having severe arthritis makes a normal life very difficult, why not work around my pain ? By being limited it makes me be able to focus on art a lot easier. Im not saying my art healed me but it does make me wake up with a positive outlook everyday.

HHP:  How do you feel knowing your artwork can be worn to help others feel better?

Lvon: It makes me feel inspired to keep creating. I am extremely thankful to have this opportunity and I hope my headband does indeed help to heal.

HHP:  What inspires you to create art?

Lvon: Many things inspire me to paint, the different opportunities, seeing art in museums, learning about past artists are all things that inspire me.

HHP:  What is the greatest challenge you face as an artist?

Lvon: One of the greatest challenges I have to face is the financial support from customers, at the moment I dont have many customers that buy my art on a constant basis. Essentially I am  under appreciated.

HHP:  What has been your most touching or amazing moment you've experienced as an artist?

Lvon: Simply being able to take a blank canvas then make it into something I haven't seen before is amazing to me. Colors and layers form to make a complete image, I never thought i would be a artist.

HHP:  If you could show your artwork anywhere in the world where would that be?

Lvon: Europe or South America.
